I chose BQR tools over their competitors because they provide a full range of integrated reliability tools. Without the integration, much capital and time would be consumed by manual calculations.
BQR tools are used for reliability prediction, FMECA, testing analysis, maintenance analysis and LSA.
The reliability prediction tool enables performing MTBF calculation and stress analysis calculation. The tool gives the user a platform for establishing and maintaining component libraries, saving analysis time while using the items in different designs. Product trees can be automatically loaded into the tool using simple interfaces such as Excel. The data can be also transferred to other CARE tools such as FMECA and RBD. The RBD includes basic and comprehensive models based on network and Markov algorithm.
The FMECA complies with the basic MIL-STD 1629. It enables performing a full FMECA including testing analysis. The FMECA creates a tree structure supporting the user in building the ALFA coefficient based on the HW/functions failure rates.
LSA is a good tool, enabling the user to perform task analysis and produce logistic analysis reports. The export data can be loaded to certified LSAR 1388 tools. The tool package also includes a powerful unique automatic stress analysis module (fiXtress) and design evaluation tool. This tool enables the user to perform an electrical stress analysis at a level that cannot be achieved manually. Design issues can be detected as part of this analysis.

BAE Systems Rokar Facility has been using several CARE software modules for over 10 years. The CARE package is used for component, SRU, LRU and system reliability analysis. We are satisfied with the software and with the improvements performed over the years as well as with BQR’s support.
In recent years, BQR has developed the fiXtress software for electrical stress analysis. Since we do not produce many new PCBs annually, due to economic considerations, we haven’t purchased a license. We use BQR as a sub-contractor for preparing the required analysis. With the BQR RBD software, and without any previous experience, we analyzed the network pretty fast, and compared the availability and reliability of all suggested alternatives, to find the preferred one. After brief training, we found the software to be very friendly and easy to use. In order to check the accuracy of the calculation, we applied the software to some non-complex networks, compared the results with hand calculations, and found the RBD software to be very accurate.
