RAM Analysis for International Airport
BQR helped a large integrator to win a $4M tender for command and control systems, including CCTV with 400 cameras, and protection along the 14km perimeter, as well as support systems at Ramon airport. After winning, BQR Conducted more detailed analysis for each system, and provided recommendations to meet the RAM / ILS specifications. Industry standard requirements for availability of similar systems is 99.999%. Furthermore, BQR calculated the minimal cost to support maintenance and systems availability.
Ramon airport is designed to handle two million passengers per year (to be expanded to 4.5 million by 2030).
Provide initial RAM analysis for the project infrastructure under a tight schedule. Helping the integrator to define the optimal redundancies and maintenance concept with a minimum cost. The result helped the integrator to win the contact.
Full scale Design:
Provide detailed RAM and ILS analysis of the systems, and ensure that they comply with the requirements of Israeli Airport Authority with a defined budget. Analysis should account for redundancies in the infrastructure and servers, network dependencies, probability of data loss in data storage systems, availability of perimeter protection systems, and more.
BQR worked with the integrator and subcontractors in order to model and analyze the systems.
The analyses included
- Availability and Reliability analysis using BQR’s FMECA, FTA, RBD basic, RBD Network and Markov chain software modules
- Life Cycle Cost calculation and Spare parts provisioning using BQR’s apmOptimizer software
The bidder won the tender, and was able to demonstrate compliance with Israeli Airport Authority requirements with a low expected maintenance cost.
